Evaluation queston 3

Planning & Organisation

  • I have organised sunny mos and chay to come to my clubhouse on the weekend.
  • The location was my club house
  • We did have some problem shooting the film since we had different ideas and we wanted different camera angles
  • I arrange the prop(car) for them by telling my dad not to drive it during the weekend
  • The film finish about 2-3 week early

Camera Work

  • We  had tried many shots but we decided to delete it because it wasnt good enough or it was a weird camera angle such as the boot shot
  • Some of the angles was very good such as behind the seat shot(thats what i called it)

Visual effects

  • We have use Final Cut PRO as out editing software since it was better than iMovie and easier to use than Premier PRO
  • For the animation credit at the beginning we use a program called "Motion" it give use the ability to create an animation easily
  • The animation was also interesting and unique

Editing

  • We have add filters to make it more mysterious and gloomy
  • adding background noise to make it sound more rural
  • The font also make meaning such as a simple font means that the film will be fairly simple

Creative confidence

  • My initial idea was to use a black mercedes to look more aggressive look but the guy didnt turn up
  • we did manage to did some camera shots that the rest of the team didnt thought about such as the back seat shot
  • Also the animation credit at the beginning. At first i didnt thought i could make it possible but with a lot of work we did.

Evaluation question 2

How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as?

  • Type of Audiences
    • Through Yougov I have found a lot of information about the people who tend to watch these kind of movies.
    • I have found that these kind of people tend to stick to their own comment and think they are right

Interview

We have interview Chay's father about what he thinks about the film. He told me that the film was quiet interesting. But the end was a bit confusing. Although his dad didnt like the shooting at the end. But the film fit his age group which is 45-60 years old. But he does like crime thriller movie.

Evaluation question 1

1) . How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?

My film opening convection is about crime thriller(Mafia). The first scene was about a man (chay) getting out of the car to do some trading with some other man(sunny).

In our film opening, the audience tend to think the deal will be smooth without any obstacle in the way.But the moment chay got into the car there was gunshot sound. Which at this point the viewer will question the film, since we didnt show who shot who and what was going on in the car. As for the sound, we let it start with a ding sound(it was supossed to be a song but i forgot the name of the song) so it would sound mysterious and then the song faded out so the audience can hear what was goin on.

The area we have use is my compound clubhouse since there was a lot of big trees in the area, in which it create a great sense of being somewhere rural and out of sight, We also put filters over the original film to make to darker and more mysterious

We have tried some of the camera from a film but it doesnt seems to work. Such as the Boot shot, a person need to be inside the boot of the car which was not safe and my boot was too small to fit anyone in there.

A trunk shot that we decided not to include.

I have influence from the movie fast and furious 2. The scene where Brian and Roman eject 2 Mexican man out of their car. This was a sign of a traitor and

Font

The font we have chosen is Roboto because it is easy to read and clear. Just like out film, we wanted it to be a simple deal and easy to understand to understand what was going on.
Image result for roboto font
Then we use some effect at the end of the film opening to make the font a little bit unclear. This is due to the sudden gunshot at the end which cause confusion to the audiences and also question the audiences on what was going on.

This camera angle represent the person in the car is being worried about something since he look back in the mirror to see the deal being made. This shows that something might happen and he is making sure everything is going according to plan.

Fonts

This the the font we use in our film opening.

We only use this font in our film opening. We decided to use this font because its a modern looking font with simplistic design. Which matches our film very well since the film is set in the modern wold and the things that were happening was very simple.

Similar Film

Image result for fast and furious 2

My film is related to this movie in one scene which is the last scene. When Brian have his money in the boot of the car and then Brian and his friend eject his friend out of the car. Scene
Just like my movie opening when one of the character shoots one another to get the package in the trunk of the car.

But for my movie opening, I have change it to shooting instead. But the rest stay the same as this film such as a package in the back of the car and the main actor is getting rid of the other actor.

Location Scouting

I have scout the location near my house. The location we have chosen is my clubhouse which is very quiet and looks like a suburban road. This fits our scene very well since we are trading illegal or stolen package. Also, there is gardener car parked there which we can use in the film. There is also a digger which we can also use to make it feel more suburban or on a construction site.

Location
  • Ohm's Clubhouse
Lighting
  • Well Lit in most location
  • A lot of shadow in some location which we can use as a scene that looks line in a wood
Health and Safety
  • Closest hospital is 10 km away from the location
  • First aid kit is available in the car

Mood Board

This is my mood board. My idea was to create a heist scene. But then plan changed, so I've decided that I will be keeping this mood board but change the story line a bit. By doing that the theme will still be about a heist (traitor killing and taking the package).
